Transdermal iodine is made with 20% SSKI, 40% Aloe Vera, and 40% DMSO by volume. Rosemary EO is added at 1 part per thousand.   This product provides 20 mg/drop iodine as the iodide anion.  DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide is a super solvent and detoxifying agent that increases iodide transfer through skin significantly, over 90%.  I-Skin is made with aloe vera to reduce chapping and irritation to the skin from extended use that DMSO alone may cause.   There are approximately 200 drops in this 10-ml bottle.

*Iodide gets transformed in the body to iodine during the formation of thyroxine from tyrosine. The reason the formula is iodide is because iodide is clear, whereas iodine is dark brown. But it changes over to iodine in the bodyl Many people prefer a clear topical to a dark brown.
