Getting Started With Truemed

Obtaining your Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) from Truemed is a straightforward process that takes under 5 minutes. Here’s how to get started:


  1. Start the Qualification Process: Start by clicking this link to see if your purchase is eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement. After you complete their short health survey, a licensed provider will review your responses to evaluate your eligibility. If you qualify, you’ll receive an email notification with your LMN typically within the same day.
  2. Take the Short Health Survey: The short survey contains basic identification and health questions. Once you submit this information, you’ll pay a one-time fee of $30. Your LMN will remain valid for one year from its approval date. After payment is submitted, you’ll receive an email notification with your LMN if you qualify.
  3. Next Steps: Complete your Life's Healthiest supplement purchases with your HSA/FSA card and save your LMN for the next three years in case your HSA/FSA provider or the IRS asks for proof that your purchase was a qualified medical expense. How to Submit Your LMN for HSA/FSA Reimbursement

With your Truemed LMN, you can expect to receive HSA/FSA reimbursements for your recent purchases and all future purchases. Follow these steps if you need to file for a reimbursement:


  1. Understand Your LMN: Your LMN is valid for 12 months from the day you receive it. All purchases made within this time frame are eligible. You will need to repurchase an LMN once yours is no longer valid.
  2.  Find Your HSA/FSA Provider: If you’re uncertain who the administrator is, contact your employer’s HR department for more information.
  3. Log Into Your HSA/FSA Provider’s Online Portal: Use your credentials to access this online portal. You may need to create an account if you don’t have an existing one. You can find more in-depth instructions for the most popular HSA/FSA providers here.
  4. Find the “Claims” or “Reimbursement” Section: Most platforms should have a dedicated space for this.
  5. Submit Your LMN and Receipt: In order to receive reimbursement, you’ll need to upload two documents 1) your LMN from Truemed and 2) your Life's Healthiest email receipt.
  6. Wait for Confirmation: It can take up to a few weeks for your HSA/FSA provider to process a claim. The reimbursement amount will be deposited directly into whatever designated account you have set up.
